When do we want it?! (2019)

This audio installation consists of the word 'now' spoken and recorded by the artist. The word is digitally slowed down in order to take eight hours to hear it in its entirety - a reflection of gallery hours. The audio installation was then installed such that it could be heard very loudly from all over the exhibition space, including on the streets. (The venue was temporarily occupied by Casa Da Dona Laura with the project Mellifluous Elephant, and was a place of residence before being marked for demolition).
The work parodies both the western political world (‘now’ has become such a relative term with regards to change, especially regarding global warming) and the meditative realm (everyone needs to be living in the ‘now’).
